About this experience

Have you ever wondered how scientists find and bring fossils back to the lab? Now you can discover for yourself!

Join staff palaeontologists as we uncover the fossilized remains of dinosaurs, reptiles, early mammals, fish, and even sharks at the Museum's primary field site, Wasson Bluff!

Visitors will see how we locate these rare natural treasures, bundle them up safely for transportation back to the Museum, and learn about how we identify, care for, and preserve them for future generations!

Visitors to the field site should be prepared for a 2.5 km in-and-out hike over moderately difficult terrain (rock beach and steep changes in elevation). Hiking shoes, sunscreen, bugspray, full waterbottles, and dressing in layers is all highly recommended.

Located on the North shore of the Minas Basin, only a 10 minute drive (8.5km) away from the Fundy Geological Museum!
