Over the years the author has ridden motorcycles through remote regions of the world including Central and South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and North America including the Arctic. His magazine stories and more irreverent trip reports for friends and family have largely provided the grist for this book. The overall goal was to find the roads not taken, and thereby escape the bounds of his own comfort zone. In return there would be new experiences on the frontiers of his known world, a taste of the wonderful, scary, and bizarre. Larry has been injured, robbed, entertained, and enlightened, and he always came back to the trough for more. The author shares with his readers the highs and lows of adventure motorcycling, some of his lessons learned, and his hopes that he will feed such passions for adventure travel in his readers.
